
John Oliver Banks is the lead singer in a band. When Lucifer convinces God to test John Banks, Lucifer travels to John in the guise of talent agent. Lucifer, the deceiver, divides the band, the growing animosity reaches its peak on stage causing a ruction. As sheep to a shepherd, the fans are to a lead singer. John Banks first loses his fans and his band. John then has to witness the murder of his pregnant wife at the hands of his talent agent. Looking for revenge John attempts to track down Lucifer; however he is found first. John’s second test is to be subjected to hours of torture at the hands of his wife’s murderer.
His friends visit him, as he lays bloodied and butchered. The friends attempt to convince him to deny God but they are sent away. Alone and introspective, he starts to question his creator’s motives.
When John falls unconscious God appears to him in his dream. God then interrogates him in order to humble him.
John Banks is sent away with renewed faith. He is rewarded with double the riches, a new wife and family. But John is haunted by the resentment he feels towards his substitute family and the money he didn’t earn so much so that he takes his life.
